Managed Deer Hunt Days
in Howard County Parks (and WSSC)
Six Howard County parks will have managed deer hunts on the
days shown to control the overpopulation of White-tailed
Deer.
When there is a hunt, the park is CLOSED from dawn until
noon. Bow and gun hunting will be permitted except as shown.

In addition to the managed hunt, the Department of Recreation and Parks will also be reducing deer herds in some locations utilizing a highly accurate, noise-suppressed firearm and specially licensed and qualified shooter. The Alpha Ridge landfill, Worthington and Blandair Parks will utilize the special shooting operation because of site-specific conditions for which the managed hunt is not fully suitable. Special shooting will take place at Alpha Ridge landfill on the evening of March 19 and at Blandair on March 12. |

Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry collects cash donations from churches, foundations, businesses and individuals and pays approved deer processors to process the deer brought to them during Maryland's bow, muzzleloader and firearms seasons-- including those taken from Howard County Parks. Venison is distributed and/or cooked by hundreds of Maryland community organizations such as church pantries, Salvation Army, community food banks, church feeding ministries, emergency assistance programs and children's homes. |
Triadelphia Reservoir will be closed all day for deer hunting on Oct 15, Oct 29, Nov 10, Nov 20, Dec 4, and Dec 11. It will be closed at all times for the winter starting December 15, 2007.
