County Bird Club
The Maryland Ornithological Society's annual fall count is held each year on the third Saturday of September. Prior years have tallied 115-135 species of birds on the count. Birders of all skill levels are encouraged to participate--whether or not you are a Bird Club member. The county is divided into seven areas, which are used for all annual counts. Each area has an area coordinator. After a hard day of birding, we all gather at a member's house for the tally rally (a potluck dinner, count of species, and general bragging rights!)
The pot luck dinner will be served at approximately 7:00 pm, r.s.v.p with food category at fletcherw AT msn DOT com)by Sept. 10th, to reserve space and if necessary obtain directions.
