County Bird Club
The Howard County Bird Club's annual midwinter count is held each year on the first Saturday of February. Prior years have tallied 85-94 species of birds on the count. Birders of all skill levels are encouraged to participate--whether or not you are a Bird Club member. The county is divided into seven areas, which are used for all annual counts. Each area has an area coordinator. After a hard day of birding, we all gather at a member's house for the tally rally (a potluck dinner, count of species, and general bragging rights!)
